The firm of J. Kretschmer, Architecture and Art is located in Los Gatos, California and was founded in 2003.
The firm specializes in small project delivery, primarily residential under 5000 square feet and commercial projects under 10,000 square feet. The company is committed to client satisfaction and quality professional service.
The principal architect, Jennifer Kretschmer, AIA is licensed in
California and has over 25 years experience in the field of architecture. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she is a member of the American Institute of Architects where she has served at the local and state board of directors. She also holds an NCARB certificate.
In 2002, Jennifer was awarded national recognition when she was selected National Associate AIA Member of the Year.
In 2006, she was part of a CNBC new segment spotlighting the business of innovations in architectural technology.
Through 2006, 2007, and 2008 Ms. Kretschmer wrote articles for the San Jose Mercury News, Ask an Expert segment.
Since moving the firm to Los Gatos in 2008, she has provided service to the community as an Art Docent for LGUSD and a member of the Measure E Citizens Bond Oversight Committee. Since 2015, she has been the chairperson for the AIASCV CRAN (Custom Residential Architect Network).
Jennifer has also expanded the firm to include her passion for the visual arts by offering clients a network of artists for commissioned works including her own artwork.

Lakshmi Subramanian: Lakshmi is a licensed architect and has experience in commercial and residential projects. She has worked as an architect in India and the United States. Lakshmi’s primary passion in architecture is sustainable and green design. John Buckle: John began his career as an apprentice with Kirk Hillman, Architect in 1983. His first project was a ground up redesign of the Clubhouse at the renown Meadowood Resort in St. Helena. The team continued on the site and designed and drew plans for every building existing on the site today. John worked with Kirk on high end residential homes and remodels and various commercial projects. In 2005 he began to do design work for himself and also contract out to other architects including J.
