An Architect’s Studio, Part 2

Construction is well under way on my new studio.

We started with the framing, but the inspector didn’t like where a wall was located and made the framers move it. This was even though they built the wall where it was located in the plans and where the Planning and Building Departments approved its location. But the building inspector interpreted the rule differently and thus, I lose 5 inches of space and my garage gets a funky ceiling soffit.


The original slab floor needed to be cut for the new plumbing and a hole was dug to connect to the sewer lateral.


Next came some more rough framing then rough electrical, mechanical (new heat pump) and lastly another inspection.


The Sheetrock will go up next. Stay tuned…
